Description
:
We seek to appoint a Research Associate to lead on a project aimed at
investigating fungal pathogenesis and epithelial-pathogen interactions. The
overall purpose is to characterise the biological function of a specific fungal
protein in Candida pathogenesis and how it mediates epithelial immune
activation. This project aims to provide essential new understanding to basic
fungal biology and the mechanisms that underpin health in context of microbial
commensalism and pathogenicity.
Tenure
of awards
:The
post has been approved until September 2015.
 Value: The appointment will
be made, dependent on relevant qualifications, within the Grade 6 scale,
currently £31,020 to £37,012 per annum, plus £2,323 London Allowance per annum.
Selection
Criteria
: We
are looking for a highly motivated, hard working scientist who can work
independently but also interact creatively within the team. Successful
candidate will have proven track record of conceptual and methodological
familiarity with host-pathogen interactions, fungal pathogenesis and epithelial
immunology. S/he will have PhD in a Microbiology/Immunology/Biological Sciences
subject and publications in high impact peer-reviewed journals.
