seeking to recruit a Communications & Outreach Manager re­sponsible for
developing and implementing the organization’s communication and outreach
strategy while adhering to CHF’s procedures.

POSITION
DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Communications &
Outreach Manager

Reports To: Country Director

Essential
Duties and Responsibilities

The Communication
& Outreach Manager identifies and establishes new partnerships to
strengthen the reach and effectiveness of the program. This will be
accomplished by developing a wide range of written materials, presentations,
and possibly videos for local engagement and participation in program
interventions.

The
Communications & Outreach Manager will specifically be responsible for the
following:

  • Manage
    all program communication and outreach activities, in close consulta­tion
    with the Chief of Party.
  • Lead
    the development of new partnerships with the private sector and other
    stakeholders to increase local and international support for the
    USAID/Higa Ubeho program.
  • Produce
    news releases, web content, reports, and publications for a variety of
    different audiences.
  • Identify
    and coordinate speaking and other public engagement opportunities for CHF
    International/Rwanda amongst a variety of different stakeholders.
  • Assist
    technical teams to package and disseminate materials to facilitate replica­tion
    and learning among development partners.
  • Coordinate
    learning activities within the organization to support documentation and
    sharing of key lessons and achievements for widespread dissemination.
  • Support
    the Grants Management Team in tracking all donations and contribu­tions to
    the program
  • Given
    the nature of the work, the staff requires creativity, outstanding
    communication and interpersonal skills, and adaptability. The candidate
    may be asked to carry out duties which are not specifically listed above.
    The job description may be revised after discussion between the staff
    member and the organization.

Minimum
requirements:

  • Minimum
    2-3 professional experience in communications, advocacy and/or sales.
  • Proven
    track record of establishing and developing partnerships with key people
    in external stakeholder organizations.
  • Excellent
    written and oral communication skills, ability to convey messages to
    different audiences using diverse media.
  • Skilled
    and confident user in office applications such as MS Word, Excel, Pow­erPoint,
    and email; familiarity with relevant information technology, including
    social media, and website content management

Academic
qualifications:

  • University
    degree in communications, marketing, Administration or business from a
    recognized institution.

Language:

  • Fluency
    in English. Fluency in French and Kinyarwanda is an asset.
