– BSc in Bio-statistics, COmputer Science, Information Technology or related
discipline
– Experience in developing and handling databases
– Skills in IT based service to R&D and good judgment of client needs
– Excellent interpersonal skills and pro-active attitude towards problem

Description:
The successful candidate will be an IRRI Researcher contributing to the
establishment, management and curation of a comprehensive rice phenomics
database at IRRI. This database will assemble plant data from an international
network of partner institutions (GRiSP Global Rice Phenotyping Network) as well
as other related research projects within and beyond IRRI. The database will be
structured to render phenomics data accessible to cross-cutting queries also
involving external databases (genomics: DNA sequence and SNP information) as a
resource for association genetics research. She/he will work under the direct supervision
of a senior database manager and as part of a phenomics research team and will
collaborate with bio-informatics, IT, bio-statistics and genomics experts of
other IRRI and GRiSP teams.
