Transformation Sociale, -ADTS-, is a civil society organisation in Rwanda. It
intervenes in the domain of social development. Most of its activities aim at
building capacity for social transformation in Rwanda though raising the levels
of critical awareness, reflection and action among partner organizations and
the Rwandan society in general.
The PPIMA project
The PPIMA project The PPIMA project is a three year consortium project of the
Norwegian People’s Aid, CARE International and Save the Children Fund. It’s a
civil society support project aiming at strengthening the interest among
Rwandan Civil society organizations and citizens in public policy affairs and
supporting them in their efforts to self-organize and acquire the skills they
need to engage effectively in national and local level processes of policy
formulation and implementation/Advocacy.
position that constitutes one of key components of PPIMA project: the
Anti-corruption, Justice and Resource Centre (AJIC) Coordinator (1). This
position will be fully based in Gakenke District.
Job purpose
The “AJIC Coordinator” with the supervision of the Executive Secretary of ADTS
will have the responsibility to coordinate, manage data generated from field,
and provide the information related to PPIMA field activities.
Specific tasks:
Specifically, the AJIC Coordinator will be charged of, but not limited to:
– Handle complaints received from clients who come to the centre to seek
assistance for legal aid and ensure regular update of the data base including
filing of hard copy-complaints
– Coordinate youth based activities linked to PPIMA objectives in
relation to fight against corruption and other related issues within the
project operation area (GAKENKE);
– Take the lead in creating a working environment conducive to a core and
desirable consultation and collaboration with other institutions/organizations
charged of combating corruption in Rwanda: Ombudsman Office; Transparency
Rwanda; National Police…
– Find strategies for engaging the youth and train them on rights-based
issues leading to the sustainability on the AJIC Centre;
– Manage and facilitate internal and external communications of the AJIC
information · Manage information in hard form and electronically in terms of
collection, storage, duplication, publication and dissemination to all users.
– Prepare quarterly reports on AJIC activities
– Manage the AJIC computer network, LAN, ICT and application of
software’s and data base
– Attend any policy meeting related to his/her job.
Required skills and core competencies:
– Rwandan Nationality;
– Bachelor’s Degree in Law with a 1 year proven experience in legal
assistance/aid.
– Should have in-depth knowledge and familiarity with Rwanda’s national
laws, policies, legal frameworks and government structures related to
governance (recommended);
– A broad knowledge of development processes and current policies;
– Strong planning and facilitation skills; · Excellent oral and written
communication skills in Kinyarwanda and English/French
– Willingness, ability and commitment to live and work full-time in rural
communities;
– Computer literacy in data analysis and management software applications
is recommended in addition to the literacy of Word, Excel, and Power Point.
