Background:
Girl Hub is a
non-profit organisation supported by DFID and the Nike Foundation. Girl Hub is
dedicated to investing in adolescent girls as the most powerful force for
change in the developing world: the girl effect. The girl effect has proven
effective at the local level in a variety of ways, and has gained momentum both
with girls in the regions where we work and internationally by attracting
critical partners.
Overview:
The role of the
Communications Coordinator is to support the day-to-day work of the
communications team, maintain strong communications frameworks, and maintaining
the core communications functions.
Key Duties and
responsibilities:
– Support in Ni
Nyampinga and Girl Hub Rwanda event coordination and execution
– Maintain internal Girl Hub Rwanda calendar
– Support in development of talking points, letters, briefings, and other
written materials for Country Director and partners
– Support in content collection, media coordination, and development of
creative assets
– Prepare correspondence with partners
– Support in coordinating high level visits
– Manage printing and other physical collateral production
– Manage and track contracts
– Manage day-to-day communications budget
Essential skills
and experience:
– Exemplary written
and oral Kinyarwanda and English
– Strong attention to detail
– Knowledgeable about Rwandan influencer landscape
– Self-motivating and starting
– Proactive
– Experience managing budgets and contracts
– Ability to work in diverse team
– BA degree required, preferred in language-intense and/or communications
fields
– Record of work in E. Africa/Rwanda and/or teens preferred
– Strong sense of Ni Nyampinga teen spirit, history of bringing to life teen
spirit
