International Postgraduate Research Scholarship at Queensland University of Technology in Australia

Queensland University of Technology is
offering scholarships for international students to pursue a postgraduate
degree program. To be eligible for an IPRS, a student must meet
international student visa requirements as specified by the
Australian Government Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC),
including the requirement to purchase and maintain a standard Overseas
Student Health Cover policy approved by the Australian Government
Department of Health and Ageing; and be commencing full-time
enrollment for the first time in a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) at QUT. The application
deadline is 13 October 2013.
Study Subject(s): Scholarships are provided in the field of  Business, Creative
Industries, Education, Health, Law, Health and Biomedical
Innovation (IHBI), Accident Research and Road Safety Queensland
(CARRS-Q), Science and Engineering and Future Environments at Queensland
University of Technology.
Course Level: Scholarships are available for
pursuing postgraduate research degree level at Queensland
University of Technology.
Scholarship Provider: Australian Government Department of Health and
Ageing.

Eligibility: To be eligible for an IPRS, a student must:
-be an overseas student as defined by the Higher Education Support Act 2003
(the Act); and
-meet international student visa requirements as specified by the
Australian Government Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC),
including the requirement to purchase and maintain a standard Overseas
Student Health Cover policy approved by the Australian Government
Department of Health and Ageing; and
-be commencing full-time enrollment for the first time in a Higher Degree
by Research (HDR) at QUT; and
-be undertaking study in a subject area identified by QUT as one of its areas
of research concentration; and
-not hold a research qualification regarded by QUT to be equivalent to an
Australian Research Doctorate or, if undertaking a Research Masters, not
hold a research qualification regarded by QUT to be equivalent to or
higher than an Australian Research Masters; and
-not have held an AusAID scholarship within the two years prior to commencing
the IPRS; and not be receiving a scholarship for which course tuition
is a component under any other scholarship scheme to which the Australian
Government makes a substantial  contribution.

Scholarship Description: The IPRS scheme was established to maintain and develop international
research linkages and  specifically aims to attract top quality
international postgraduate students to areas of research strength in the
Australian higher education sector and support Australia’s research
effort. International Postgraduate Research Scholarships are prestigious
scholarships, funded by the federal Government to encourage exceptional students
to undertake research higher degrees in Australia.
Duration of award(s): Scholarships are offered for three years.
What does it cover? The applicant will receive:
-Tuition fees and health-cover costs for you
-Health-cover costs for your dependents.
-The applicant may also be considered for: an Australian Postgraduate
Award living allowance scholarship.
Selection Criteria: The scholarships will be awarded on academic performance.
