The Deputy National Director, Rwanda will provide
executive leadership and coordination of the organizational strategic planning
process while leading in the assurance of programmatic quality, excellence in
execution, business development, and support services functions of the
organization in order to manage risk and compliance while attracting and
securing funding to maintain continuity for the organization. You will provide
leadership and oversight for all aspects of Human Resources (known as People
& Culture, P&C, at WV) and Organizational Development with the primary
aim of optimizing organizational performance, sustaining the culture, ensuring
alignment with WV´s Regional and &Global P&C strategy.
We are looking for a visionary leader who can
combine strong business disciplines with inspirational leadership skills in
line with our Christian values and ethos. You will have a passionate desire to
help others, especially children.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: 
  • Lead the strategy development process for the
    office with clear, measurable short-term and long-term targets.
  • Ensure that Ministry strategies are aligned
    with Regional, Partnership strategic priorities and the country specific
    strategic guidelines / priorities.
  • Provide leadership and accountability for the
    professional management and maintenance of the People & Culture
    Division and to provide leadership and supervisory support to the
    department through.
  • Effective coordination of timely and
    appropriate technical assistance in accordance with established standards
    and norms for program quality and impact.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of
    appropriate advocacy strategies to raise awareness of and advocate for
    change in- key issues within the specific context.
REQUIRED SKILLS INCLUDE:
  • Master’s degree in Leadership, or any other
    related field.
  • 8-10 years at Management/Leadership level,
    with 3 years serving in a senior level leadership/management role. 
    Knowledge and demonstrated understanding of the WV Partnership preferred.
  • Results-oriented leader who can handle a heavy
    work load as well as manage and satisfy multiple and at times conflicting
    organizational, donor and other stakeholder demands.
  • Wide experience in leading strategic
    development in large or complex organizations with cross functional
    management experience.
  • Travel:  30% Domestic/international
    travel is required.
  • On call:  after working hours in
    cases of emergency or high- level visitors delegation
  • Available to represent the National Director
    at critical functions and moments as needed at times at short notice.
  • Available to serve on National Office
    Leadership and/or Management Teams as requested.
