JOB ANNOUNCEMENT: FIELD LOGISTICS OFFICER
Concern Worldwide Rwanda is seeking to recruit an
experienced Field Logistics Officer. This position is based in Huye District
JOB PURPOSE: To provide logistical support to field projects in Southern
Province.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Fleet Management:
  • Co-ordinate with the programme managers and
    ensure effective transport plans to ensure that the transport requirements
    of the programme are being met
  • Manage all transport requirements including
    fuel, maintenance, servicing and ensuring that all vehicles are fully ,
    equipped with tool kits, First Aid kits, and other relevant equipment
  • Supervise all drivers/riders and make regular
    inspections of vehicles, bikes and log sheets.
  • Monitor and evaluate drivers performance, fuel
    consumption and vehicle and bikes maintenance and repairs.
  • Manage fuel system, including the weekly and
    monthly transport analysis of the cost and efficiency
2. Procurement and Stores Management:
  • Manage the requisition, coordination and
    follow up of requests with Purchasing Officer
  • Support all projects within the southern
    province by managing the logistics requests and local procurement.
  • Facilitate the purchase and collection of fuel
    from fuel station.
  • Supervise and build the capacity of the
    storekeeper on stock management best practices
  • Ensure that all goods are managed in
    accordance with the Concern stock management manual
  • Ensure approval of dispatches from stores and
    conduct regular physical count of all goods in the stores
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • Degree in a business related discipline, or
    substantial field experience in Logistics and administration o Minimum 2
    years of relevant working experience as logistician
  • Strong organisational skills and the capacity
    to analyse and prioritise needs o Capacity to work under pressure and to
    tight deadlines
  • ‘Knowledge of local procurement and standard
    record keeping and stock management
  • Strong computer skills particularly Microsoft
    Office Excel
  • Flexible and enthusiastic
  • Proven level of reliability and honesty
  • Excellent communication skills ( fluent
    written and spoken English)
  • Demonstrable initiative and pro-active
    problem-solving skills
