LEATHER PRODUCTS COMPANY Ltd is a leading company in leather processing in
Rwanda which has started its activities in 2014. Our products range from
sandals to main shoes. The Company is privately owned company incorporated in
Rwanda, with the aim of developing leather products sector in Rwanda. The core
product of this unit is the quality leather products comprising footwear and
the training.
Job
Duties:
The
Sales Officer’s main responsibilities will be:
  • Planning
    the sales forecast that may guide the company through its production,
  •  Promoting/Negotiating/selling/securing
    orders & sales leads from existing and prospective customers through a
    relationship-based approach,
  • Demonstrating
    products and services to existing/potential customers and assists them in
    selecting those best suited to their needs,
  • Establishing,
    developing and maintaining business relationships with current customers
    and prospective customers in the assigned territory/market segment to
    generate new business for the Company,
  • Making
    telephone calls and in-person visits and presentations to existing and
    prospective customers,
  • Researching
    sources for developing prospective customers and for information to
    determine their potential,
  • Developing
    clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and
    prospective customers,
  • Expediting
    the resolution of customer problems and complaints,
  • Coordinating
    sales effort with marketing, sales management, accounting, logistics and
    technical teams,
  • Analyzing
    the territory/market’s potential and determining the value of existing and
    prospective customers value to the Company,
  • Creating
    and managing a customer value plan for existing customers highlighting
    profile, share and value opportunities,
  • Identifying
    advantages and comparing Company’s products/services,
  • Planning
    and organizing personal sales strategy by maximizing the Return on Time
    Investment for the territory/segment,
  • Supplying
    management team with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems,
    interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and
    services,
  • Keeping
    abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions,
    competitive activities and analysis, advertising and promotional trends
    through the reading of pertinent information sources with marketing and
    technical service areas,
  • Participating
    in trade shows and conventions,
  • Creating
    cooperation with suppliers operating in Rwanda and abroad, dealing in shoe
    products and other related products,
  • Researching
    and Providing ideas for products needed on market and products design
    improvement in the production planning process,
  • Generating
    information of the preference of Customers on the market in relation to
    the Company products,
  • Providing
    information on customers’ feedbacks, complaints and comments on the
    products of the company, and advise the management on how to handle such
    information gathered from Customers,
  • Report
    the changes that may occur in certain periods concerning the sales for
    products of company before the period,
  • Report
    to the management the evolution of sales and the state of the market of
    the company products.
To
achieve this, the Incumbent Candidate will be working as part of the Management
Team. He/She work will enable the company to reach its target market and make
revenue from the manufactured leather products
Minimum
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Holding
    Rwandan nationality
  • Having
    a Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field
  • Minimum
    2 years experience in sales or Marketing in a Manufacturing or Retail
    industry or Company. Experience within leather products or footwear
    products or related products is highly appreciated
  • Willingness
    to work under pressure
  • Willingness
    to work / be based in a remote area (semi-rural area)
  • Willingness
    to travel
  • Good
    computer literacy (especially MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS
    Access). Knowledge of a specialized Invoicing / Accounting Software
    packages is a plus
  • Fluent
    in English and Kinyarwanda. Working knowledge of either French or French
    languages is a plus.
You
will have demonstrated strong skills in: time management, organization skills,
leadership, communications skills.
