Women’s Network
The
Rwanda Women’s Network (RWN) is a non-profit making and non-governmental
organization dedicated to the promotion and improvement of the socio-economic
welfare of women in Rwanda through enhancing their efforts to meet their basic
needs. The Network came into being in 1995, taking over from its parent
organization; the US based Church World Service, which had initiated a two-year
program in the country following the genocide in 1994. Rwanda Women’s Network
mission is to work towards promotion and improvement of the socio-economic
welfare of women in Rwanda by enhancing their efforts to meet their basic
needs. The RWN works towards this mission through four core programs.

Currently,
and in the past RWN has been working on issues of Gender Based Violence (GBV)
and Violence against Women (VAW) through many fronts. RWN works with community
based organizations guided by the principle of empowering women, their families
and communities, ending gender based violence and promoting gender equality

Background of EASD-R Project
The
Rwanda Civil Society Platform (RCSP) together with some of its members and
partners namely: Transparency International Rwanda, CLADHO, Pro-Femmes/Twese
Hamwe, Imbaraga, AJPRODHO, Rwanda Women Network, ADENYA and ADI Terimbere
having acquired funding from the European Union (EU) to implement a project
entitled EASD-R “Improving Efficiency and Accountability of Service
Delivery in Rwanda; the overall objective being strengthening the role of
the Rwandan Civil Society Organizations in Monitoring and improving the
efficiency and accountability of service delivery in Rwanda, and mainly
focusing on realising the four specific results which are:

- Citizens
and CSOs have increased their capacity to monitor and inform national and
local policies and plans, - An
ICT system for public service delivery monitoring and feedback involving
citizens directly is established and operational in four districts
(GATSIBO, NGORORERO, NYARUGURU, GAKENKE, and Kigali City. ) - Rwandan
CSOs led by Profemmes Twesehamwe, monitor and generate status report on
the implementation of the Government gender budget statements. - Rwandan
citizens and CSOs are engaged in a constructive policy dialogue at
national and local level, based on identified national and
local level policy and service delivery concerns.

The
AJC Coordinator will work under RWN program management. S/he will ensure
effective implementation of planned activities related to EASD-R Project.

Responsibilities and Tasks

Under
direct supervision of the Program Manager, the AJC Coordinator will
coordinate the implementation of EASD-R Project in Gatsibo District

- Introduction
of the Project to local authorities in collaboration with RWN line manager - Receiving
cases from citizens - Provide
legal aid and referral when necessary - Advocate
for citizens issues
- Dsseminate
the project implementation progress, best practices and lessons learned
- Timely
produce and submit reports as will be agreed upon with the line manager - Liaise
and maintain dialogue with relevant governmental institutions and other
partners to ensure the needed collaboration, synergy and sharing of
experiences and communication with impact - Represent
RWN in relevant forums in the Sectors of intervention where the project
operates

Requirements
Requirements
- Rwandan
nationality - University
degree in Law, - Good
understanding Rwandan legal and Policy framework - Excellent
management, interpersonal and communication skills - Fluency
in Kinyarwanda and English - Computer
literacy in word processing (Microsoft Word) and spreadsheets
(Excel);
