Banque Populaire du Rwanda, the leading
retail bank in Rwanda wishes to recruit a focused, results-oriented and
suitably qualified professional to fill the following position:

Key responsibilities

Authorise
teller transactions
Carry
out cash control and reconciliation on a daily basis
Keep
the secret code and keys to the strong room
Maintain
a key and combination register at the outlet and register allocation of
keys to staff
Ensure
that all accounts opened at the outlet are KYC compliant.
Ensure
that cheque books and other bank tools are managed under a dual
control environment
Ensure
all manual income fees and commissions are collected
Mobilise
deposits
Mobilise
new clients
Respond
to customer inquiries
Ensure
that cash levels at the outlet are within set bank limits.
Supervise
the cashier (s)
Conduct
snap-checks on cashier operations to ensure cash management is effective.
Ensure
that Staff in the Outlet have job descriptions and performance contracts
Staff
appraised at mid-year, end of year and at the end of probation
period
Provide
refresher training to the staff under his/her supervision
Ensure
all staff under his/her supervision have a maximum of five annual leave
days at the end of the year
Ensure
the outlet staff comply with bank procedures and policies
Manage
assets under his/her responsibility
Ensure
that operations at the counters are delivered on time.
Follow-up
and ensure that Bank fees are charged in line with the established
tariffs
Implementation
of Audit recommendations
Ensure
all supporting documents in the outlet are filed
Authorise
all transactions in exception

Qualifications required

At
least a Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Economics and Finance.
At
least 1 year experience as a Cashier, Outlet Team Leader in a Bank or
Micro-Finance, or any equivalent position in a financial institution
Basic
skills in bank reconciliation
Loan
processing skills
Knowledge
of bank products
Selling
skills
Negotiation
skills
Knowledge
of banking software preferably T24 R12,
