Partners In
Health/Inshuti Mu Buzima is a Harvard-affiliated international NGO that has
partnered with the Government of Rwanda to strengthen the health system and
support poverty reduction initiatives in rural Rwanda since 2005. Through its
service delivery, training, advocacy and research, PIH works globally to bring
the benefits of modern medical science to those

most in need and to serve as an
antidote to despair.

PIH operates sites
for clinical care, research, and training in 10 countries (Haiti,
Peru, Russia, USA-Boston, Rwanda, Lesotho, Malawi, Kazakhstan,
Mexico, and the Dominican Republic); and has a growing network of affiliated
organizations and initiatives in several other countries, including Nepal,
Burundi, Mali, Liberia, Guatemala, and Togo. PIH is seeking
experienced professionals to fill the following positions:

SUMMARY OF
ROLE

The Research Manager – NCDs is
a full-time position intended to participate in developing research ideas,
writing grants and supporting research implementation and capacity building.
Also, he/she will also support management of various research department
projects, as well as participate in developing frameworks, guidelines and
processes that enable high quality research to be carried out at PIH-IMB. Under
the guidance of the Director, he/she will actively participate in research
department activities including, but not limited to, participating in strategic
research planning, proposal development, research implementation, coordinating
research grant and studies, analyzing research data, manuscript writing,
participating in research writing groups, programmatic reporting, research
capacity development including providing dedicated mentorship to research team
members. The right candidate is also expected to develop and lead a particular
area of research that they may be interested in and for which they raise
resources. This is a key role that is the day-to-day interface between the IMB
leadership, the MOH, other national research agencies and individual
researchers and their institutes; and through this interface ensures a
coordinated, legal and ethical approach to research in IMB and Rwanda.
