In Malawi, Tanzania, and Rwanda, CDI integrates commercial farms and other
agribusinesses with smallholder outreach to increase smallholder farmers’
access to local markets and enable them to participate equitably in those
markets. CDI’s mode puts farmers first by increasing their access to knowledge,
inputs, services, and markets to improve their crop yields and increase and

Position
Description:
The
scope of this job ranges from performing accounting and financial reporting
duties at MatimbaCommercial Farm, keeping track of profitability issues and
safe custody of assets. The Finance Associate will primarily be responsible for
supporting farming operations by performing general accounting and financial
reporting functions.  The position will report to the Farm Manager and
will receive technical support from the CDI – Rwanda Director of Finance.

    with procedures and regulations
Required
Expertise, skills& Experience:
  • Preferred:
    Bachelor degree in accounting, minimum required:
  • Minimum
    Required: 3 years in accounting and financial reporting with a commercial
    farm
  • Preferred:
    Previous experience in a similar position; previous experience with an
    agribusiness entity
  • Superior
    skills, knowledge and experience in accounting, procedures and reporting
    functions.
  • This
    position must be able to handle multiples tasks at the same time, while
    being able to remain composed during stressful situations.
  • Shows
    tenacity and rigor
  • Proficiency
    in MS office (World, Excel, etc.)
  • Fluent
    in English and Kinyarwanda
  • Strong
    verbal communication and influencing skills.
This
position requires weekend, nights, and off peak hours, sometimes with very
minimal advance notice, ability to work in a varying schedule including early
mornings, weekends and holidays.
