JOB TITLE:    PROJECT SUPPORT
OFFICER (FULL-TIME)

PART 1: INTRODUCTION
Twin is a development through trade NGO working with 33
producer organisations (PO) representing 300,000 coffee, cocoa and nut
smallholder in 17 countries across Latin America, Africa and Asia. Our coffee
company Twin Trading, works to access value-added markets for our producer
partners and offers quality coffee with development impact.
We unlock the power of trade to strengthen producer
organi

sations and deliver social justice, economic development and
environmental sustainability for smallholder farmers. We are engaged throughout
the value change to balance producer support with creating market demand,
building partnerships that deliver sustainable, scalable and meaningful change.

In May 2015, Twin opened a regional office in Kigali in
order to ensure the smooth delivery of our projects in East Africa, and
increase our development impact on the producer organisations. Our team is now
composed of 5 staff, as well as external associates.
PART 2: JOB PROFILE
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The role sits within the regional team and supports the
operation of African coffee projects from the Kigali office. It involves
project coordination, and monitoring of activities and expenditures. The Project
Support Officer (PSO) will also be the primary contact within the regional team
for all reporting communications with the London office. 
POSITION IN THE ORGANISATION
Reports to: Regional managerin Kigali and works closely
with the Programme Officer-African coffee in London

PART 3: RESPONSABILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Project Coordination
•    Support the regional team in the
coordination of the African coffee projects, including monitoring the
associates’ activities against agreed work plans, and sub-grants sent to
partners.
•    Assess gaps and/or delays in project implementation and
flag any concern to the Regional Manager.
•    Ensure that reports from associates and staff are sent in a
timely manner to Regional Manager for theirre view.
Project development
•    Be an integral part of the programmes team, including
suggesting new systems and improve project coordination and administration
across the organisation.
Internal management
•    Support the use of the shared server
for improving communications across teams e.g.: updating/amending work plans of
associates, and storing project information.
•    Review invoices from associates and send to Regional
Manager for final approval.
Other duties
•    Provide support to the trading team in
London when information from a PO regarding shipping and coffee availability is
needed.
•    Any other reasonable duty as may be assigned that is
consistent with the nature of the job and its level of responsibility.

PART 4: PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
Skills and qualifications
•    A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in International
development or related subject (essential)
•    Excellent coordination and communication skills, especially
for working with multicultural teams (essential)
Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks
•    Proven ability to monitor expenditures and provide updated
information for financial reporting(essential)
•    Coffee sector experience (desirable)
Experience (all essential)
•    Minimum two years’ experience on project
administration
•    Experience in project reporting
•    Experience in budget monitoring
•    Experience/exposure to  international development work
•    Experience of working at a distance with dispersed teams
Languages:
•    Excellent English and French(essential)
Other
•    Excellent administrative and IT skills   
•    Affinity with aims and vision of Twin

 PART 6: PACKAGE
Hours of work: this is a full time job (40 hours a
week)
Salary:depending on experience (from 2,000 USD up to 2,500 USD gross per
month)
Contract conditions: 12 months rolling contract
Holiday allowance: 25 days per year pro-rataplus bank holidays and other
statutory holidays
