February 2012. It is affiliated to FXB International; an international NGO
created in 1989, whose mission is to fight poverty and HIV/AIDS. FXB Rwanda is
currently seeking to recruit the Nutrition and WASH officer for USAID – Turengere
Abana Program implemented in Nyanza District:

PURPOSE:
PURPOSE:
The
nutrition officers will be responsible for the promotion and adoption of
nutrition good practices by serving communities through Community Based
Nutrition Program (CBNP) and enhance the improvement of wellbeing of the PLHIV
in program operational areas by passing on skills in health (Hygiene and
sanitation), nutrition, HIV/AIDS prevention, mitigation and management through
trainings and demonstrations.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Plan
and conduct training of Community Health Workers, PLHIV, lactating and pregnant
women and other different target groups on key HIV/AIDS behavioral change,
health, nutrition and hygiene topics especially to reduce malnutrition and
mitigate the impact of HIV/AIDS among PLHIV; - Ensure
that acquired knowledge are shared among served communities; - Organize
pregnant and lactating mothers into Cooking Demonstration Groups (CDGs)
and Internal Savings & Lending Groups (ISLGs); - Support
community health workers in timely collection of data for monthly growth
monitoring; - Ensure
timely data entry and data quality for nutrition component activities; - In
collaboration with the Program Manager and the Technical Advisor, analyze
nutrition status data and provide feedback to CHWs for appropriate actions
including referrals, PDH based on children, pregnant and lactating women’s
nutrition status; - Promote
community based Farmer Field Schools (FFS) for pregnant and lactating
women, children and PLHIV; - Initiate
and develop saving and lending groups among pregnant and lactating mothers
and PLHIV; - Ensure
there is close collaboration with other partners and NGOs involved in
health and nutrition activities at the district level; - Prepare
and organize quarterlyand cluster meetings with local authorities, health
centers representatives and CHWs; - Assist
the Program Manager to develop program work plan and district work plan; - Prepare
and submit data and narrative reports (weekly, monthly, and quarterly) to
the Program Manager on timely basis.

COMPETENCES
COMPETENCES
- Minimum
of a bachelor’s in nutrition, public health, nursing or any other related
field; - At
least 3 years of experience in community based nutrition and health
activities in a busy NGO - Computer
literate to a high standard in Microsoft Office - Good
communication skills in French or English and Kinyarwanda; - Must
have a driving license, category A - Experience
in similar position will be an added advantage - Experience
in USAID funded programs is an added advantage
