Under
the supervision of the Program Manager, the project officer will have the
responsibility to coordinate and manage the implementation of environmental and
economic development activities under the mentioned project in Kayonza
district. She/he will be in charge of community mobilization, sensitization and
capacity building for the improved environment, reduced tree cutting and
economic development initiatives among the project population.

The
field officer will undertake the following tasks:

- Mobilization
and sensitization on environmental protection, tree planting, use of energy
efficient stoves and alternative fuel - Training
of Self Help Groups on tree nursery set up and management - Training
and mentorship of SHGs on business development - Ensure
setting up of tree nurseries with a variety of agroforestry tree seedlings
(both forest and fruit trees) - Organizing
public tree planting days/events - Ensure
training of community-based mason on energy efficient cook stove
building/installation and alternative fuel e.g biogas and biomass
briquettes - Training
and mentorship of cookstoves masons on business developments - Community
awareness creation on the benefits and use of energy efficient stoves
through household demonstrations. - Interact
and facilitate communication between project beneficiaries and local
authorities local development actors and other stakeholders at the
district and sector levels - Assist
in Monitoring and Evaluation of the project performance - Produce
monthly, quarterly, annual and any other required report on the project
implementation
Minimum
Qualifications and Experience Required
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Rwandan
nationality and Committed Christian, - Education:
University degree of Agricultural technician level A1, in the field of
Agroforestry - Proven
working experience in the domains of agriculture and community
development, - Having
worked with rural communities. - Experience
in facilitating community development plans as well as community training
skills - Possess
a valid Rwandan motorbike driving license with at least 1-year driving
experience - Good
experience in working with local leaders and other local opinion leaders
including religious leaders and other partners - Excellent
oral and written communication skills in Kinyarwanda and English - Strategic
thinker and organizer - Willingness,
ability, and commitment to live and work full time in an area of the
project - Computers
literate: word, excel and power point. - Be
ready to start the new employment
