Improving the efficiency and
sustainability of charcoal and wood fuel value chains Project is funded by the
Nordic Development Fund (NDF) through the World Bank. The project development
objective is to improve the efficiency and sustainability of wood fuel value
chains in Northwest Rwanda. The project will result in a major advance in wood
fuel management across the Gishwati-Mukura landscape by improving woodlot
management practices, increasing the efficiency of charcoal production and
improving seed quality for increased resilience

Improved seed quality component
aims to facilitate the use of improved tree varieties in the country and
complement LAFREC support of the use of native species in forest restoration
activities by supporting improvements and diversification of the tree seed
pool, covering the viability of climate-resilient tree seeds that may withstand
increased temperatures and floods, and establishing a seed collection center in
the Eastern province. It is expected that improving seed quality will have a
positive impact on productivity, as present evidence points to genetic
degradation affecting plantations’ yields

The Consultant will carry out the
complete engineering services related to the project design, construction
supervision and contract management. Therefore, the project is recruiting a
national consultant to undertake the activities outlined below.

Specifically, it is to:
– Preparation of engineering design and
architectural drawings.

The application shall include
- A
motivation letter expressing suitability for the assignment; - Curriculum
Vitae of the consultant with the required supporting documents (Copies of
Academic qualifications and the copies of certificates of
completion/contracts for similar assignments performed). Required academic
qualifications and experience are detailed in the attached Terms of
Reference (ToRs);

detailed work plan and a financial proposal that will facilitate contract
negotiations. - Late
