Eid-ul-Fitri is now going to be celebrated on Sunday 24 May 2020.
The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) has said that on Saturday, May 23, 2020, the Ramadan fast will begin as the moon was not seen.
No moon has been sighted, according to the NSCIA ‘s National Moonsighting Committee, adding that this year’s Ramadan fast will hit 30.
The moon sighting marks the culmination of the time of fasting and the beginning of a new month in which Muslim faithful observe the Eid-ul-Fitri festival.
While announcing the outcome of its moonsighting effort, the committee on Friday said, “There was no positive sighting report of the Shawwal crescent in Nigeria, tomorrow is 30th Ramadan. An official statement from the Sultanate will be released shortly.”

This means that Muslim faithful have one more day to observe Ramadan fast, during which on Sunday, May 24 , 2020, the Eid-ul-Fitri will be celebrated.
Confirming this, the authorities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia were stated to have said Friday, “Saturday will be the last day of the holy month of Ramadan and Eid-el-Fitr on Sunday.”
Religious authorities in Jerusalem, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Qatar and Lebanon also said Eid would start on Sunday, according to The Punch.
