Yesterday’s Edo central rally is another assurance from the good people of Edo as we approach the 2020 gubernatorial election. Despite the serious threats from especially the state governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki to crush it organizers, yet Edo people defied all threats to identify with the party they have hope and love for.
Ordinarily, having listened to the state governor a couple of days ago, putting ban on his acclaimed party’s rally, one would think nobody would organize or attend any rally in the state.
Irrua town was filled to the brim during yesterday’s rally by the teeming supporters of Apc across the state, from all walks of life.
I see yesterday’s rally as a further attestation of the fact that the people need change in government. You can tell their frustration through their body language yesterday at the rally. Some who spoke with news men expressed dissatisfaction and loss of confidence in the government of Obaseki.
The people are seeking for credible candidates to be fielded in this year’s gubernatorial election, as they pour encomiums on Odubu, Ize-Iyamu, Airhiavbere and others.
