Carre d’As volleyball competition kicks-off this weekend

From July 27- 28, 2019, the annual Carre d’As volleyball competition is scheduled to take center stage in the men’s and women’s category at Petit Stade.

FRVB will face off in the all-around throughout post- season men’s competitions, including favorite Rwanda Energy Group (REG), Gisagara, UTB, and IPRC-Ngoma, according to the Rwanda Volleyball Federation.

REG is anticipated to face no difficulties in unlocking IPRC- Ngoma at the NationaL Paralympics Center in the opening fixtures planned for this Friday corresponding champions while defending champions Gisagara will take on UTB later on.

The competition will resume on Saturday with four games to be played, while UTB will fight REG in the best of three sets, while IPRC-Ngoma will take on Gisagara before UTB returns to face IPRC-Ngoma.

REG will take on the Gisagara team that has just signed a two- year contract with former Rwandan international Pierre Marshal Kwizera as their new head coach.

The women will also play outside court on the same day when six matches will be played. RRA takes on females  defending winners APR, UTB vs KVC, APR takes on UTB ; KVC meets RRA, while APR tussles with KVC before UTB meets RRA.

The men’s and women’s finals will be performed on Sunday when the best teams take second place depending on the rankings to determine the finalists.
