Complications of Whooping Cough


While whooping cough is very unpleasant, there may
also be other complications, they include:

Otite media, especially in infants

Bronchitis
·                    
Bronchopneumonia
·                    
Flare- up of tuberculosis
·                    
Severe vomiting with dehydration
·                    
Tetany ulceration of the tongue (due to biting during a paroxysm)
·                    
Abdominal hernia
·                    
Seizures and brain damage
