Knowledge and attitude of health information management students towards HIV awareness amongst undergraduates of Houdegbe North American University Students

Abstract
This project investigated into the knowledge and
attitude of Health Information Management students towards HIV awareness
amongst undergraduates of Houdegbe North American University, Cotonou Students.
To achieve this, four research questions and their corresponding hypotheses
were drawn and formulated respectively. 
The descriptive survey research method was used to examine the study, in
which two hundred (200) respondents were drawn using the multi-stage and
accidental sampling techniques. The instrument used for data collection was the
structured questionnaire and data collected were analysed using the frequency
distribution table, percentage and chi-square statistics at alpha 0.05 level of
significance. From the findings of the study, it was revealed that (i) there is
significant level of awareness among the students of Health Information Management
students of Houdegbe North American University, Cotonou on
HIV/AIDS (ii) Health Information Management students of Houdegbe North American
University, Cotonou have a positive attitude on HIV/AIDS. Based on this, the researcher recommends that
there should be constant information, education and communication programmes to
reach everyone and the use of the mass media.
