Definition of terms

Adolescent: A young person in the process of developing from a
child into an adult.

Adulthood: Maturity of sorts,
whether it be physical or psychological.
·        
Child abuse:  A situation when a parent or caregiver, whether
through action or failing to act, causes injury, death, emotional harm or risk
of serious harm to a child.

Corollary: A proposition that follows from one already proved.
·        
Criminality: The quality or state of being criminal.
·        
Delinquent
behaviour:
Conduct that is out of accord with accepted behaviour or the law.
·        
Depression: Feelings of severe dejection.
·        
Drug abuse: The recurrent use of
illegal
drugs, or the misuse of prescription or over-the-counter
drugs with negative consequences.
·        
Emotional harm: Deliberately trying
to scare or humiliate a child or isolating or ignoring them.
·        
Hostility: Unfriendliness or opposition.
·        
Parent: A person’s father or mother.
·        
Teenage prostitution: Prostitution of a minor, or person under the legal age of
maturity.
·        
Youth violence: Harmful behaviours
that can start early and continue into young adulthood.
