4.2.1 above shows that 96% of the respondents agreed that they are aware of the
importance of good feeding habit to human health in the study area, 4% of the
respondents disagreed. 8% agreed that excess intake of food especially in an
unbalanced proportion can lead to overweight while 92% disagreed. 82%of the
respondents have the knowledge that not eating enough food containing necessary
food nutrients can lead to malnutrition while 18% disagreed. 65% agreed that
the eat three square meal a day while 35% disagreed and 22% of the respondents
agreed that skipping of meal can lead to malnutrition while 78% disagreed.

4.2.2 above shows 18% of the respondents agreed that ignorance is a cause of
malnutrition among the elderly, 82% disagreed. 24% of the respondents agreed
that ageing is a cause of malnutrition, 76% disagreed. 14% agreed that socio
isolation in elderly can lead to malnutrition in elderly, 86% disagreed. 13%
agreed that dieting can cause malnutrition, 87% disagreed and 100% of the
respondents agreed that poverty can cause malnutrition while none disagreed.

nutrition can lead to malnutrition, 8% disagreed. 25% agreed that excess intake
of food especially in an unbalanced proportion in elderly promotes the risk of
heart disease, 75% disagreed. 40% agreed that inadequate nutrition in elderly
can cause physical disability such as arthritis and vision impairment, 60%
disagreed. 40% greed that ageing can lead to reduction of sense of taste, 60%
disagreed. 455 of the respondents agreed that loss of appetite among the
elderly sometimes as a result of depression.

prevent malnutrition, 4% disagreed. 14% agreed that regular intake of alcohol
before and during meals lessen appetite, 86% disagreed, 85% agreed that regular
exercise before and after meals is helpful, 15% disagreed, 13% agreed that
increase intake of fruits and vegetables helps to reduce problems associated
with feeding habits. 35% of the respondents believed that increase intake of
fluids such as water prevent constipation while 65% disagreed.
