CA Global: Power and Energy (Africa Positions) has a client that is in need of a Power Plant Engineer (Operations and Maintenance). The position will be based in Liberia.
Overview
Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the power generation plant, aimed at fulfilling production schedules and providing for the needs of industrial facilities, equipment and residential and support buildings.
Job Requirements
• Electrical Engineering degree, post-graduation qualification is desirable.
• Around Eight years experience with management / supervision in a power generation unit.
• Excellent Communication written and verbal English, process control, ability to work across cultures, focus on results, client oriented, leadership, and decision making skills.
• Remote African Experience is Preferred
Job Description
• Maximize power generation operations in order to secure a continuously increased availability and utilization rate of facilities and equipment.
• Ensure the continuous operation of power generation and transmission through the rigorous planning, execution and control of plant activities, in order to meet the needs of the processing plant, repair shops, port facilities, offices, residential compound, guesthouses, the hospital, the rail facilities, etc.
• Ensure the maximization of availability and life cycle of facilities, machines, equipment, and transmission networks, developing predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Ensure the minimization of costs through continuous monitoring and analysis of the power generation and transmission process variables.
• Ensure environmental norms and procedures are complied with, caring for the environment in all activities.
• Make sure the team is continuously encouraged by an invigorating workplace climate, thereby optimizing its performance, monitoring the development of activities, providing for adequate training and encouraging the fulfillment of goals.
• The health and safety of in-house and outsourced teams shall be secured through effective preventive and corrective actions.
