Arcelor Mittal Superintendent of School Job Vacancy in Liberia

The Superintendent of Schools at ArcelorMittal Liberia is responsible for ensuring that all company-run schools function within budget and provide quality education in a safe environment. At the direction of the Head of Administration, the Superintendent is responsible to draft policies that govern the operation of all schools and range from hiring teachers to disciplining students. Along with the head of Administration and leadership team of the school, the Superintendent of Schools sets goals for schools, such as improving test
scores or developing a new curriculum in a subject area. The Superintendent then works with principals or administrators of each school, parents and members of the community to implement the changes necessary to meet these goals.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
• Keep the head of Administration informed of the condition of the school system’s educational program; assure effective communication between the Head of Administration and the staff of the school system. Relay all communications by the Head of Administration regarding personnel to the school system’s employees and receive from all school personnel any communications directed to the Head of Administration;
• Prepare the agenda for quarterly meeting between school system administrators and Head of Administration in consultation with the head of Administration. Prepare and submit recommendations to Head of Administration relative to all matters requiring management action, placing before the management such necessary and helpful facts, information, and reports as are needed to insure the making of informed decisions;
• Submit to the Head of Administration a clear and detailed explanation of any proposed procedure that would involve either departure from established policy or the expenditure of substantial sums;
• Develop and recommend to the Head of Administration objectives of the school system and ensure the implementation of programs and activities to achieve such objectives;
• Develop and recommend to the Head of Administration long-range plans consistent with population trends, cultural needs, and the appropriate use of school system facilities, and see to the development of long-range plans which are consistent with management objective etc etc

JOB REQUIREMENT:
1. Suitable undergraduate degree in Education or Education Administration, preferably a Master degree;
2. Proven ten years’ experience in teaching, administration, coordination, and management, coupled with strong leadership skills;
3. Proven communication and writing skills;
4. Ability to train and transfer knowledge to work colleagues;
5. Demonstrate result and facilitate cross-functional interactions and communications.
