JOB DESCRIPTION:
Perform the routine/day – to – day management and oversight of all commodities, procurement, and maintenance of fleet and inventory of assets and liaise with HANDS field offices.

Key Job Description:
• Identify suitable storage facilities to receive and store all commodities and non-food items dispatch as per
Donor and OICI regulations and directives;
• Receive and record all commodities/items onto relevant tally cards and ledgers upon receipt;
• Take regular inventory of all commodities and items and submit monthly/quarterly reports on all receipts and issues, noting physical stock balances;
• Maintain a fixed asset schedule and update it regularly;
• Regularly check vehicle/motorbike log sheets to ensure compliance;
• Submit monthly, completed log sheets of all vehicle(s) and motorbike(s) to the Commodity Manager;
• Liaise with the field and county offices for all procurement requests and needs;
• Prepare all purchase requisitions;
• Conduct regular checks on all secondary storage facilities at the communities to ensure safety and proper hygiene of commodities in storage and transit;
• Prepare and submit quarterly reports on commodity accounting and pipeline analyses;
• Maintain adequate and complete records of warehousing procedures for review and audit by appropriate authorities and in compliance with Donor and OICI regulations and guidelines;
• Undertake the distribution of food to participating recipients in an effective and efficient manner whilst ensuring the maintenance of adequate documentation of the food distribution process;
• Maintain regular contacts with food distribution recipients to ensure the availability of information on the use of commodities post-distribution.

JOB REQUIREMENT:
Qualifications and experiences:
• A degree in the social sciences, Diploma in Purchasing and Supply with relevant professional qualification;
• Minimum of 3 years work experience in similar position or as Purchasing /Stores Officer;
• Experience working with rural communities and international organizations;
• Computer Literacy in MS Office and adequate knowledge of Internet usage.

• Have affinity for rural development
• Must be a good communicator both written and oral
• Must be energetic and capability in rural dialects in the area will be an added advantage
• Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to adapt, lead and motivate others
