Job Description:
The Head of Risk Management will be responsible for all risk management activities including developing and enforcing internal policies and procedures; identifying and assessing internal and external threats; performing enterprise-wide stress testing and advising on remediation; overseeing strategic, operational and enterprise risk while ensuring the highest industry standards are maintained regarding risk assessment, analysis and management. The Head of Risk Management will be integral in working with the Executive Management team to establish the overall risk culture of the organization.
Competencies:
The candidate must be a consummate professional with in-depth knowledge of risk assessment, risk evaluation and stress testing of financial institutions.
• Must possess strong ability in analyzing a diverse range of complex issues and problems.
• Deep knowledge of banking regulations, particularly in the Liberian context.
• Strong management and leadership skills are essential, combined with the ability to operate at a high level while acting as a change agent.
• Proven written and verbal communication skills with the ability to facilitate meetings with associates and management.
• Demonstrated team player and ability to work independently
• Results driven and metrics focused
Educational Qualifications:
Graduate or Postgraduate degree in relevant disciplines.
Post-qualification Work Experience:
Proven leadership experience in a financial institution within or outside Liberia with a minimum of 4 years progressive experience in risk management and related disciplines.
