POSITION SUMMARY
As PSI/Liberia’s Behavior Change Communications Coordinator for Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), you will work with the Sr. Technical Advisor to develop and implement campaigns, trainings, and capacity building efforts. You will provide technical and supervisory leadership to BCC activities implemented to improve WASH behaviors and continue to build the market for WASH products. You will expand and/or develop skills in program management, mass and interpersonal communication, and personnel management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supervise activities of IWASH implementation and field staff
• Work with Senior Management to develop and execute communications plans, to empower staff to be accountable to objectives and workplans
• Ensure mass media and interpersonal communication channels are working cohesively
• Liaise with MOHSW and County Health Teams
• Supervise community implementation of BCC plans
• Collaborate with the M&E Coordinator to monitor effectiveness and improve program implementation
• Co-write and disseminate reports
• Co-develop and facilitate trainings for community agents
• Participate in selection of community agents.
SKILLS
• Successful candidates will exhibit creative thinking and the ability to work efficiently and quickly under pressure to deliver on deadlines
• Strong English oral and written communications skills
• Ability to translate MIS and research data into programmatic decision-making
• Ability to train others
• Ability to coordinate multiple activities simultaneously
• Strong relationship-building skills to facilitate strong partner relations with NGO, UN, and Government partners
QUALIFICATIONS
• Undergraduate degree in Communications/Social Science or professional experience in communications
• Familiarity with Behavior Change Communications
• Experience implementing projects in communities
• WASH or public health experience a plus
