Reports To : Logistician
Duty Station : Nimba County
The driver will provide safe, courteous transport services for program and support staff of Africare Liberia. The driver will adhere to all Republic of Liberia traffic regulations and Africare Liberia safety rules and guidelines. S/he should be able to undertake minor repairs and be knowledgeable in basic mechanics and electrical systems. This position reports to the Nimba Logistician as it relates to the day-to-day activities.
Specific responsibilities include:
Safely operate Africare Liberia vehicles as assigned by his/her Supervisor;•
Maintain vehicle logbook in conformity with Africare Liberia policies and regulations;•
Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks after each trip; report any problems to the Logistician and/or Fleet Officer;•
• Adhere to all safety and communications protocols as required by Africare Liberia rules and regulations and his/her Supervisor;
Ensure the safekeeping of all vehicle equipment, tools, first aid kits, spare tires, etc.;•
Maintain the vehicle in stand-by status – clean and functioning – at all times;•
Report all vehicle maintenance needs to the Logistician on a regular basis;•
Assist fellow drivers and visitors in troubleshooting potential problems when performing normal daily tasks;•
Undertake all field assignments as requested;•
Perform other duties as assigned.•
Qualifications:
High School Graduate;•
Basic mechanical skills and knowledge is added value;•
Must have a valid driver’s license;•
More than five year experience working as a driver;•
Must have experience driving in rural Liberia, especially Nimba County;•
Willingness to travel frequently to rural locations in Nimba County.•
