Job Description
Our UK based client is looking for a reserving specialist to join their successful and innovative business which includes a number of leading brands.
Requirements
• A statistics, actuarial or other insurance qualification is essential
• Insurance reserving or pricing or capital modelling or relevant analytical experience
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Innovative thinking: ability to identify problems and to find solutions.
• Good communication skills especially to senior non-specialists.
Responsibilities
• Support and maintenance of a quarterly reserving process, monthly monitoring process and the regularly updated forecast process.
• Review the reserving variability work and the interaction with the Capital team. Regular reconciliations of systems with Finance and Pricing.
• Support the development, implementation and training for new systems, processes and models for the Corporate Actuarial reserving team, review team and the Reinsurance team. Ensure the teams fully understand the models and use them correctly.
• Assist the Reinsurance manager on the reinsurance purchase, providing actuarial input and managing data preparation.
• Identify areas of further improvement throughout the Corporate Actuarial and Reinsurance teams.
• Representing Corporate Actuarial by participation in projects that will impact data processes, IT systems and use of Corporate Actuarial data.
