Department
The Head Office Finance team manages the overall financial position of Merlin including consolidating, monitoring and advising on all the organisation’s expenditure both within the UK and overseas. The team is responsible for the production of management accounts, for adequate financial control systems and manages standard finance functions of taxation, payroll, sales and purchases as well as overseeing the organisation’s cash position, its treasury activities and the organisation’s insurance arrangements. The team also provides key support, both financial and technical to all budget holders and the programmes team within the head office.
Main purpose of the role
The main purpose of this role is to provide the main store of knowledge in relation to the management accounts for the organisation, compiling budgets forecasts and actual reports that will inform management on the financial direction and progress of Merlin.
This role will also be responsible for the finance system maintenance and development.
Overall Objectives (scope)
• Production of annual Merlin budgets and quarterly re-forecasts encompassing both head office and programme income and expenditure;
• Production of the monthly Merlin management accounts and the Budget vs. Actual (BvA) reports for Head Office departments;
• Development and implementation of financial key performance indicators for the organisation;
• Finance systems (PS Financials and Vision) maintenance and development;
