The gender unit of the Lagos State Police command has arrested a 44-year-old man and his 19-year-old son for allegedly raping and impregnating a 14-year-old girl.
In a press statement released by the spokes person of the Lagos State Police Command, Bala Elkana stated that the case was reported at the gender unit of the command by the mother of the 14 years old girl.
The report indicated that the girl was being raped by the victim’s sister’s husband aged 44 known as Kabiru Oke and his 19 years old son named Oke Faruq,; both living at No. 1, Olatikupo Street, Egbeda.
The report indicated that the girl was living with the sister’s husband and that the sister’s husband, Kabiru Oke started to have carnal knowledge of her since October, 2018. While the second suspect, Oke Faruq, being the son of the first suspect, started having unlawful carnal knowledge of the same minor on 10th January, 2019.
According to the statement made available to the public by Bala Elkana, the suspects have constantly in a like manner threatened to kill the victim if she ever tells anybody about their unlawful sexual affairs. The victim exposed them when her mother suspected some changes in her and discovered that she was pregnant.
Bala Elkana also added that the victim had been taken to Mirabel Centre by the gender unit of the police command for medical examination, while the two suspects had been arrested and charged to a magistrate court. The case has, however been heard at the magistrate court and had been adjourned till 13th May, 2019, while the suspects had been remanded in Kirikiri Prisons.
