Our
client, a leading company in the entertainment industry in Ghana, is urgently
looking to hire a proactive Sales and Marketing Director to support their
operations.
ROLE
PROFILE
To
provide overall coordination and supervision of the sales and marketing

department.

DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Advises
    CEO on sales and marketing matters by ensuring that the appropriate
    structures, systems, competencies and values are developed in order to
    meet and exceed the goals of the company’s sales and marketing plan in a
    cost effective manner.
  • Designs,
    implements sales and marketing policies and ensure compliance by the sale
    and marketing team within the framework of their work
  • Designs
    and implements sale and marketing systems and strategies for the business
    in Ghana and the allocated regional markets for all categories (Consumer,
    Pharmacy and Critical Care) to ensure new business for the company
  • Monitors
    developments in the industry and advice management on market developments,
    market trends, competitor activity and market shares.
  • Prepares
    annual budgets for the department and monitors their implementation.
  • Plans,
    develops and implements the company’s marketing and communications
    activities, both external and internal.
  • Drive
    the establishment and sustenance of strong relations with all customers
    with special focus on key customers/accounts (e.g., Health institutions,
    Government Agencies, pharmacies wholesalers etc.)
SUPERVISORY
DUTIES
  • Assigns
    duties to and monitors activities of immediate team members to ensure
    achievement of performance targets.
  • Identifies
    the training needs of immediate team members and organizes or recommends
    appropriate training for them.
  • Assesses
    the performance of immediate team members and reviews assessments for
    lower level employees.
  • Administers
    discipline affecting immediate team members in accordance with the
    company’s disciplinary code and procedure.
DEPARTMENTAL
RELATIONS
  • Maintains
    advisory and consultative relations with all department heads.
     
 EXTERNAL RELATIONS
  • Maintains
    contact with  all customers with special focus on key
    customers/accounts (e.g., Health institutions, Government Agencies,
    pharmacies wholesalers etc)
 RESPONSIBILITY
FOR ASSETS
Responsible
for implementing  efficient sales and marketing systems to ensure business
growth
Required
Skills or Experience
COMPETENCIES
    
 Educational Qualification
  • University
    degree (Commerce, Economics, Pharmacy, Engineering etc.).
  • Post
    graduate qualification /MBA will be an added advantage.
    
 Technical
  • A
    minimum of 10 years’ experience in sales & marketing management
    (channel/brand/customer) in reputable multinational FMCG/Pharmaceutical
    Company with 3–5 years at least in a similar position, in a Pharmaceutical
    Company.
  • Good
    computer skills
  • Sound
    understanding of sale and marketing principles ,systems and techniques
 Managerial
  • Ability
    to follow up to monitor people and work activities.
  • Ability
    and willingness to train.
  • Leadership
    – ability to explain the vision, values and standards of the company and
    set the appropriate examples.
  • Ability
    to build a cohesive work team and motivate teams members
Personality
  • Assertiveness-
    ability to articulate views and decisions and stick to them where
    necessary.
  • Trustworthiness
    – ability to conduct self in a manner which elicits trust, respect and
    confidence of team members.
  • Good
    presentation and verbal communication skills
