Location: Mbeya Tanzania with limited travel to Southern Highlands and Dar es Salaam
Position Overview
The Nutrition Manager is responsible for promoting proper nutrition for all HIV/AIDS patients and clients in the Southern Highlands area of Tanzania, in keeping with national policies and guidelines. This includes strengthening facility and personnel technical capacity, ensuring the regular supply of relevant commodities and equipment, and facilitating proper recording and reporting of nutrition activities by supported sites
Duties / responsibilities:
Promote and coordinate the provision of nutrition services to patients receiving HIV care and/or treatment in the region.
Prudently manage nutrition care products.
Ensure accurate documentation and timely reporting of nutrition activities in the region.
Participate in planning and guide the implementation of HIV/AIDS care services in the region
Undertake regular monitoring and supervisory visits to the partner sites.
Assist in the formulation and implementation of policies and procedures that govern the Program’s nutrition activities.
Conduct training, mentorship and updates on nutrition with Program sites.
Nurture good working relationships with the Ministry of Health’s Regional Health Management Teams Carry out other duties as assigned by the Program.
Requirements
Diploma in clinical nutrition from recognized institution (a Bachelor degree is preferred);
Five years post training experience in clinical nutrition;
Three years experience in HIV/AIDS nutrition, preferably in a clinical environment;
Understanding of the national policies and guidelines on HIV/AIDS nutrition;
Understanding of the MOH structure and systems;
Experience in HIV/AIDS programs, including working in GO settings;
Experience in designing, implementing and evaluating a nutrition program;
Ability to work and network with different partners, especially at regional and district level;
Proficient use of English language, both orally and written;
Basic computer skills
