Financial Superintendent Job Vacancy in Tanzania

Our
Mining Operations based in Tanzania require a suitably qualified and
experienced Finance Superintendent who will be responsible for business
administration, financial analysis, cost control, financial modeling and system
integration of the North Mara Finance Department. This position will have
extensive interactions with other departments; senior North Mara based
management, and other ABG entities. This position will report into the
Administration Manager and is worked on a FIFO 6/3 week’s roster.
KEY
RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The
below is an indication of duties performed but is not limited to:

Business
Administration
  • Liaison
    between site finance Team, SBC, and Corporate Accounting.
  • Address
    any business or administration-related initiatives or issues that may
    arise.
Analysis
and Cost Control
  • Review
    and analyze monthly financial reports to identify potential cost control
    issues.
  • Assist
    in the control over the maintenance of costs by mining, processing, and
    G & A departments.
  • Compile
    the monthly variance analysis of the operations, looking at budget
    versus, forecasts and previous plan etc for site and corporate reporting
    purposes
  • Review
    and Assist in the AFE preparation for capital expenditures.
  • Resolve
    disputed project charges.
  • Review
    and Assist with development of yearly budget and monthly forecast.
  • Execute
    continuous improvement initiatives or opportunities not only within the
    accounting area but within the company.
Customer
Service
  • Provide
    management with the appropriate information for various “what if”
    scenarios.
  • Interact
    with relevant department managers in the review of their cost reports
    and facilitate their understanding of costs charged to their
    departments.
  • Assist
    the department and project managers with understanding their actual
    expenditures versus budgeted and forecasts.
  • Assist
    department and project managers with weekly, monthly and annual
    operations reports.
  • Ensure
    that the department and project managers receive relevant and timely
    financial information.
  • Assist
    department and project managers with weekly, monthly and annual
    operations reports, etc.
  • Assist
    department and project managers in preparing various required
    presentations.
  • Review
    and Assist in the AFE preparation for capital expenditures.
  • Serve
    as a liaison between site accounting, site operations and support
    departments business planning SBC and Corporate Accounting
  • Attend
    assigned departmental meetings.
  • Implement
    metrics and monitor results for areas of responsibilities and employees
    to track progress towards company and departmental goals.
Education
Requirements:
  • Degree
    in Accounting or Finance.
Experience
Requirements:
  • 10
    years of equivalent combination of education and experience in financial
    modeling, cost control and economic analysis, or similar.
  • Previous
    mine site finance / accounting experience required
  • Strong
    leadership and management presentation skills
  • Demonstrated
    people management experience and the ability to work with internal and
    external partners and experience with continuous improvement programs and
    integrated management systems.
  • Must
    have strong in computer and excel skills
  • Experience
    with a Western based publicly traded based company is required
  • Must
    have experience with a computer-based accounting system (Pronto
    Preferred.)
  • Ability
    to speak, read and write English required.
