This
Position is responsible for; developing and implement new training
techniques, maintain dog training, and dog handler training. Present
re-training when required at K 9 Section.

- Report
directly to the Operations Security Superintendent on status of K9 Dog
training and operational capability on a daily basis.
- React
to and deploy security dogs in accordance with Buzwagi K9 Section
operating procedures.
- Develop
and implement new training techniques, maintain dog training, and dog
handler training. Present re-training when required at K 9 Section.
- Ensure
the K9 section standards of discipline and professionalism are
maintained at all times.
- View,
test and import of all dogs for African Barrick Gold, Buzwagi
- Conduct
Patrols as per Company’s Security Policies and Procedures.
- Fully
comply with Voluntary Principles (VPs) on Human Rights and the Use of
Force.
- Conduct
audits at K 9 Sections.
- Conduct
assessments of all dogs and handlers.
- Conduct
moderation of K 9 training interventions.
- Develop
veterinary health care system.
- Further
development of dog handlers and basic veterinary assistants training.
- Develop
breeding program for African Barrick Gold, Buzwagi

PROFESSIONAL
AND INTERPERSONAL DETAILS

- Diploma
in Education Training and Development Practitioner
- Dog
Handling Training Qualification or Certificate
|
|
- Working
in a mining environment would be an advantage.
- 10
years Dog Handling and Training experience
- Minimum
of 5 years experience in a security management position is required.
