Position Description:
Tanzania International Container Terminal Services Limited (TICTS) is a member
of Hutchison Port Holdings Group (HPH) of Hong Kong. Hutchison Port Holdings
(HPH), a subsidiary of the multinational conglomerate Hutchison Whampoa Limited
(HWL), is the world’s leading port investor, developer and operator. The HPH
network of port operations comprises 320 berths in 52 ports, spanning 26
countries throughout Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, the Americas and
Australasia. Over the years, HPH has expanded internationally into other
logistics, transportation-related and hotel businesses. These include cruise
ship terminals, airport and hotel operations, distribution centers, rail
services, and ship repair facilities. In 2011, the HPH port network handled a
combined throughput of 75.1 million TEU worldwide.
We are seeking applications from suitably qualified, motivated individuals to
fill the position of Assistant Payroll Manager in our Payroll section.
Successful applicant will be responsible for providing assistance and manages
all payroll functions of the company and related records, such as entries of
daily transactions of the overtime, leave advances pay and fare payment and
staff loan advances to include deductions from salaries, collection of night
hours worked by each staff and calculation of night allowances for each,
prepare payroll analysis before payment of salaries, preparation of leave pay
and other payroll related benefits, confirmation of payment with company banks,
prepare salary journal at the end of the month and reconciliation of payroll
ledger account. He / She should be proactive and good team player with good
interpersonal skills who is capable of assuming this challenging role in the
company.
Qualification and Experience
Applicants should possess Degree or its equivalent in relevant field with at
least 5 years’ experience in Payroll supervisory level. He /She must be
computer literate in particular all MS applications, good communication skills
in both written English and Kiswahili together with the ability to work long
hours.
