in serving afflicted humanity irrespective of cast, color, nationality or
religion.
Islamic
Help has been working in Tanzania since 2007 striving for sustainable
development of communities through various projects covering, sustainable livelihood,
food security, water supply and sanitation, environmental sustainability,
education, orphan care and sponsorships and emergency relief. Islamic Help
Tanzania’s life changing initiatives not only support beneficiaries, but also
contribute towards Tanzania’s national plan of action for the most vulnerable

to support the community demand for quality education. The income from school
will support Islamic Help charitable work in Tanzania and also help support
poor and vulnerable children to get free quality education at Cordoba.

are looking for qualified female teachers to fill these positions in as soon as
possible with a commitment to work with us for one full year (the start period
is dependent on the issuance of a two year volunteer visa, processing which
takes around 3 weeks). The main responsibilities of these teachers will
include:

- Providing
training and support for the local teachers - Developing
daily lesson plans for the English subject - Delivering
lessons for their assigned classes and subject other than English; - Working
with, and supervising, the Cordoba local teaching team to ensure that
lessons are delivered and assessed according to the vision of the School
and in line with modern teaching practices; - Developing
and improving the Cordoba curriculum and teaching methods - Organizing
events and activities at Cordoba for the students and staff; performing an
advisory role for further improving teaching environment at school. - Support
Islamic Help in delivery of other charitable project funded by Cordoba
school.

for female applicants will need to have a college degree and experience
teaching children and/or teaching English as a first or second language.
Fluency in Swahili is not a necessity as local teachers are supported in their
classrooms by local teachers and teaching assistants who act as interpreters
when required. It is essential that the candidate has a strong sense of
commitment to the Cordoba objectives and is willing to volunteer to work for
Cordoba for at least one full year. The applicant should also be able to
readily adapt to different cultures.
