BACK GROUND INFORMATIONS
The government of the United Republic Of Tanzania through the Ministry of the
Works , Transport and communications seeks an experienced Tanzania to fill the
positions of Director General of the TANZANIA Airports Authority(TAA) which was
established VIDE Government Notice Number 404 of 1999 under the efforts of to
change the public service s
tructure and gear it towards improving the business
performance and high quality of services delivery the Director General is
responsible for all activities associated with the operations of airports and
related economic development activities
2.0 MAIN DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIE
· Plans coordinate, direct, and is responsible for all activities airports and
airstrips in Tanzania
· .develop short and long term plans and strategies to improve the expand
airports facilities, to attract passengers and increase the utilizations of
airports facilities and general aviations services
· Supervise the implementation of the national transport policy and civil
aviation master plan to airport operations and maintenance and development I he
United Republic Of Tanzania (mainland)
· To assume management responsibilities for all services and activities of the
Tanzania Airports Authorities
· Interact positively, collaboratively and effectively with the elected
officials local and international business agency representative passengers and
members of the Public to foster business growth, market the airports for
enhanced business potential and ensure the development of positive business
climate for the airports
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor degree in business Public Administration or engineering or Air
Transport Management or any related field and masters degree in Business
administration or Air transport management or equivalent qualifications from a
recognized institutions
· A minimum 10 years experience in 10 years which 5 years must be at senior
managerial positions
· Knowledge of air transport will be an added advantage
· Age the candidate should be not more than 50 years
TERMS OF CONDITIONS OF SERIVICE
FOR THE POST
Salary: attractive remuneration package in accordance with the institutions s
salary scale
` – 5 years contract which may be
renewable
Other terms and conditions of
service are as per the Authority’s staff benefit package and or as stipulated
by the government
