POSITION: DATA ANALYST
REPORTS TO: RESEARCH MANAGER
KEY RESULT AREAS
• Provide data using specialized quantitative systems for deep analysis thus insight generating
• Optimize the application of the SPSS Statistics software via expert capability enabling more timely and cost effective development of ‘user friendly’ survey based market research to the unit.
• Play a key role in training the research unit teams on use of SPSS and data collection to build internal capacity.
• Continuously recommend, data handling and data analysis systems to ensure competitive differentiation in the media industry.
• Provide design consultancy to the business units in respect of complex job assignments.
• Provide key timings and job costs that fit in the department’s annual budget
• Share information on the market and competitors and transfer knowledge, skills and Expertise through training and coaching of the various Business units;
• Keep abreast of current trends within market research systems and technology, in order to maintain personal skills /knowledge base to deliver leading edge solutions to the business unit.
• Be accountable for the achievement of the business unit’s objectives (KPI) and making SBU insightful reports and analysis that meet SBU expectations
Requirement:
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• Honors degree in mathematics or related statistical science.
• Proficient with Excel, SPSS/SAS and other statistical packages.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in statistical modeling and analysis.
• Experience in Media data analysis and management.
• Ability to deliver accurate and timely data to the research unit.
