Abt Associates is currently seeking candidates for an upcoming education program in Uganda. This program will include a focus on HIV/AIDS education and prevention, particularly among youth and teachers.
Specifically, Abt is seeking a Senior HIV/AIDS Liaison to work at national and district levels to:
• Provide technical support to the Ministry of Education and Sports (MOES) and other key stakeholders to strategically improve and evaluate HIV/AIDS and health education in Uganda;
• Support cross-sector collaborative activities for HIV/AIDS and health education; and
• Promote and strengthen collaboration and coordination among HIV/AIDS education stake holders.
Qualifications include: Master degree (minimum), or PhD (desirable) in public policy, public health, health education, or other relevant field; 10+ years of relevant policy and advocacy experience within the context health and education; Experience working with
MOES and Ministry of Health policies and programs, specifically with regards to HIV/AIDS
and health education; Demonstrated expertise in the areas of data for decision making,
monitoring and evaluation, HIV prevention, health education and promotion, and behavior
change approaches required; Experience with USAID-supported HIV/AIDS projects; and Advanced written/oral skills in English. Please note: this position is contingent on successful award of the proposed project.
