MTN Uganda is the leading telecommunications company in Uganda, providing payphones, fixed lines, fax/data, Internet and mobile services. MTN is currently expanding and seeks to recruit competent individuals to fill the vacant positions of Credit Control – team leader based in Kampala.

Credit Control – team leader (2 positions). Reports to the Credit Control Supervisor.

Job summary ‘
The credit control team leader’s job is to implement and maintain an effective credit control system and minimize credit risk while maintaining ah adept level of customer service delivery. He/she ensures that an outstanding postpaid debt portfolio is kept within acceptable levels while maintaining professional experiential customer service delivery.

Job description
‘ Ensure achievement of monthly debt collection targets.
. Set and monitor appropriate credit limits in a converged billing environment that minimizes bad debt and’ misuse of telecommunication services.
• • Ensure adequate customer contact is done before account balances become overdue.
• • Ensure that payments are correctly allocated to the appropriate account and against the appropriate invoice(s).
• • Initiate reconciliations to ensure outstanding disputes are brought to a satisfactory resolution.
• • Motivate team performance, enabling adequate work cover to be provided at all times. . Respond to customer queries within your portfolio of accounts.
• • Build relationships with internal and external customers.

Minimum qualifications
• Degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
• Partial (Level 2) professional Accountancy qualification or its equivalent.
• • At least three years’ credit control experience in a large, busy service organisation.
• Must possess excellent computer skills especially in MS Office applications.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to be fair but resolute when dealing with customers.

Applicants must also have strong analytical, organisational, planning, co-ordination and proven team leadership skills. Applicants should be proactive, self-motivated and be able to work under minimum supervision. They should be able to work under pressure and meet stipulated deadlines.
