Plan Uganda was awarded a 5-year
Cooperative Agreement under the Northern Uganda-Health Integration to E
Cooperative Agreement under the Northern Uganda-Health Integration to E
nhance
Services (NU-HITES) project to provide technical assistance and capacity
building support for Northern Uganda in Malaria, AIDS and Tuberculosis,
integrate additional support in Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health (MNCH),
Family Planning (FP) and nutrition; while prioritizing the strengthening of
district-level health facilities. This project commenced in August 2012. In the
course of Year two (2), the project secured additional funding from DFID to
improve technical support to malaria activities and from the US Government
together with other donors to strengthen referral networks maternal neonatal
child activities in six districts in the region.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Actively
participate in designing, implementation and monitoring of nutrition
activities in the project areas. - Offers
technical support to the district health teams and CSO partners during
annual work plan development, especially in regard to Nutrition services. - Work
closely the other members of the
NU-HITES Technical Team, implementing districts, CSOs and other
stakeholders to ensure that nutrition interventions are effectively
integrated in the integrated health service package to better benefit
pregnant women, children, people living with HIV/AIDS and other vulnerable
groups - Represent
NU-HITES project in the Nutrition technical working groups in the project
supported district - Actively
contributes to NU-HITES periodic reports by coordinating and consolidating
district reports on Nutrition programs according to defined reporting
schedules. - Coordinates
regular technical support mentorship and supervision for implement
districts to ensure quality and efficient implementation of health and
nutrition services. - Actively
participates in periodic technical review and planning meetings with
project stakeholders, especially in regard to nutrition services - Participate
in training needs identification and actual training of district based health
teams (both facility and community based) in regard to nutrition care. - Ensure
that Plan’s child protection policy and guidelines are adhered to
throughout project implementation.
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:
Skills and Experience:
- The
candidate should possess a Bachelor degree (preferred) Nutrition or any
health related field with additional training in nutrition or An MPH - Additional
training in Nutrition programmes both in public and private sector - Past
experience working in post conflict settings with hands-on knowledge and
skills in designing planning, implementing and monitoring of facility and
community based integrated health and nutrition programmes - Hands-on
experience working with districts and community health systems including
VHTs and other peer support networks - Prior
experience in nutrition related capacity building for health facility and
community health delivery teams - Computer
literacy skills i.e. working knowledge of Microsoft office programmes
