The USAID/Uganda
Private Health Support Program will contribute to establishing a more viable
and cost-effective private sector option for health services in Uganda. The
Program includes three components: 1) Expanded availability of health services
by private service providers;2) Increased affordability of private health
services and products; and 3) improved quality of private health Sector
facilities and services.
Position summary
The Accountant will assist the Finance Management Specialist with processing of
payments, staff payroll, tracking and clearing of advances.
Specifically, the Accountant will:
• Maintain vouchers and receipts for all purchases and payments
• Process accounts receivable and other incoming deposits
• Ensure that all payments have been approved by the authorized personnel in
writing, and to ensure that proper hard copies of all accounting records are
kept
• Track all advances whether for travel or petty cash payments
• Submit quarterly VAT report to the donor
Required Qualifications
• Graduate degree in Business, Finance, Accounting; ACCA or CPA qualification
is an added advantage
• A minimum of three (3) years’ experience managing finances under donor funded
projects, preferably USAID¬funded projects
• Excellent communication skills
• Knowledge of MS Excel and Word
• Proficiency in using Quickbooks software.
