Spark MicroGrants (www.sparkmicrogrants.org)
is a young, rapidly scaling organization pioneering a new approach to
international aid. Spark proactively reaches out to rural poor villages and
helps community members to design, implement and manage their own social impact
projects. Since July 2010 we have developed over 100 community partnerships
across Rwanda, Uganda and Burundi to spark community-driven impact projects,
which have included schools, community farms, health clinics and much more.

Job
Description
The Finance & Operations
Manager will play a critical role in managing Spark’s
operations in East Africa while strengthening financial systems and building
the capacity and independence of local finance teams in Uganda, Rwanda and
Burundi. The position will provide an excellent opportunity for a qualified
candidate to take on a leadership role in a rapidly growing organization and
take on increased responsibilities over time.
Responsibilities
1) Oversee the
day-to-day finances of four regional offices across three countries
2) Manage two
Finance & Admin Officers, supporting their professional development while
bringing increased ownership of financial management to local teams
3) Oversee
in-country audits while ensuring legal and financial compliance to all local
laws
4) Develop
in-country budgets along with financial reports and projections
5) Support East
African procurement, logistics and operations
Location: Mbale, Uganda or Musanze,
Rwanda (with travel across regional offices in Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi)

Length:
2 years minimum
Requirements: 1) Minimum bachelors
degree, ideally with an MBA/CPA or related degree. 2) At least 3 years of
overall professional experience; ideally 3+ years of broad financial and
operations management. 3) Experience in grants management and nonprofit
accounting strongly preferred.
