The school’s catchment area includes much of the town itself and stretches as far north as Frakkafield.

The school’s current roll is 370 with 304 pupils in mainstream primary classes, 58 children in the nursery classes and 15 children based in the Additional Support Needs (ASN) Department.

There are 14 classes in the primary department and 2 classes in the nursery. One nursery class offers a morning and afternoon session while the other class offers a morning session with additional hours. Each nursery class can accommodate up to 20 children in each session. An ASN Department, catering for pupils with a wide range of additional support needs, is attached to the school. There are now 6 classes in the Department, although a large number of these children benefit from a split placement spending some of their time in a mainstream setting.

In the primary department there are 14 class teachers, two full-time ASN teachers and one part-time ASN teacher. A number of ASN auxiliaries provide additional support for pupils with additional support needs who are included in mainstream classes. There are visiting specialist teachers of physical education (PE), music and art and visiting instructors of knitting and instrumental tuition.

The school enjoys good relationships with parents and has an active Parent Council. It also has an enthusiastic Pupil Council comprising of pupils from Primaries 3-7.
