Health Sector Plan (MHSP) – DFID
We are recruiting for a Team Leader for an anticipated DFID funded Health Programme in
Malawi.
The key responsibilities include:
• Overall leadership of the project, and management of a large team of technical assistance and institutional development experts that will support the Ministry of Health in providing high quality, accessible public health care services
• Oversight of the all regulatory and compliance matters, and the local Security Management Plan, ensuring that adequate risk assessment and the implementation of appropriate prevention and mitigation measures
• Responsible for effective governance of the project and the Futures Partnership, and ensuring stakeholder support and coordination
• Responsible for the overall technical assistance plan and implementation and achievements of the project
You will ideally demonstrate…..
• An advanced degree in public health, public administration, business or another relevant field
• 10 – 15 years of experience of leading international health programmes; Strong knowledge of working for DFID, particularly on technical assistance programmes
• Has a sound knowledge of the health sector in Malawi and/or the region
• Has deep understanding of health sector wide approaches (SWAps)
• Demonstrated capabilities in management, institutional capacity building, high-level strategic visioning and leadership and partnership building with the government and non-state actors
• Deep understanding of accountability and innovative approaches to enhance accountability
• Malawi nationals are strongly encouraged to apply
