KRIZEVAC Project HR Manager/ Trainer Job Vacancy in Malawi

The Krizevac Project began 10 years ago by simply placing a large cross on a mountain near Chilomoni, Blantyre, Malawi. Now the township around the base of the mountain is being transformed through the creation of a number of enterprises which include everything from brick making to computer and plant rental. Beehive Centre for Social Enterprise has now grown to be the largest employer in Chilomoni,
and also houses a children’s centre and large IT training academy.

To support the management and development of the projects and to join our existing team of experienced volunteers already living in Malawi we urgently seek:

1 x HR Manager
Start date: as soon as possible
Duration: 6 months minimum
Terms: Expenses paid- flights, medical vaccinations, insurance. Full board and private accommodation provided in our beautiful volunteers’ village, non-salaried voluntary.

The Beehive team are hardworking and determined to make this project a success. The team has grown rapidly and it’s now time to embed systems and improve the organisational ability to build human capacity. We seek a dynamic “people person” willing to commit to six months volunteering with this exciting project.

Purpose:
• To ensure that Beehive is compliant with local employment legislation for all voluntary, casual and salaried staff totalling 400 people across the organisation.
• To continue the review, development and implementation of the HR and Administration processes to build and strengthen capacity across all functions of Beehive Centre for Social Enterprises.
• To lead on the recruitment of the Senior Manager position in Malawi to cover HR and Administration and ensure good induction to post through shadowing and coaching over final 3 to 4 months of a 6 month placement.

Key partnerships:
• Post is part of Beehive Central Services team which includes HR, Finance, Procurement, ICT Infrastructure, Security and Catering.
• Provide support to the MD and Senior Management Team to coordinate monthly meetings, take the minutes of actions and circulate in a timely fashion.
• Work across all functions of Beehive to build consistency and accountability through strengthening capacity of Beehive Senior Managers.
• Works in close partnership with the Finance team.

You will be a driven, enthusiastic and practical HR manager with at least 5 years experience in a senior position. You will have a thorough understanding of how to help individuals develop themselves, at the same time as achieving organisational goals. Experience of working in under-developed countries would be an advantage. You’ll need to be hands-on, a great communicator, have the “patience of Job” and be able to cope with the frustrations of working in a country sometimes lacking in basic infrastructure.
