Chemonics
seeks Technical specialists for a multiyear USAID social and behavior change
communication (SBCC) health project in Malawi. The project will support the
government of Malawi’s efforts to increase demand for quality sustainable
priority health services and products. It will build national health SBCC
capacity and conduct key health communication interventions to increase demand
for the priority services in maternal, neonatal, and child health; HIV; family
planning and reproductive health; nutrition; malaria; and water, sanitation,

Responsibilities
may include

- Provide
technical input to project implementation to achieve targets in health
outcome goals - Ensure
project assistance is technically sound and appropriate for the local
context - Write
and contribute to technical and progress reports and other deliverables - Effectively
interact and work collaboratively with national, district, and community
authorities, the U.S. government and other donors, and implementing
partners - Collaboratively
implement a strategic, long-term programmatic vision
Qualifications
- Master’s
degree or higher in public health, social sciences, or equivalent field
pertaining to the position - Minimum
eight years of relevant development experience designing, implementing,
and managing USAID or other large-scale, complex, donor-funded development
programs - Experience
working within Malawi or a demonstrated understanding of the country
context - Significant
experience in key areas listed above with proven ability to achieve
program targets - Strong
ability and desire to work collaboratively with the government of Malawi,
country agencies, international donors, and local partners - Excellent
written and oral communication skills - Ability
to use emerging and key interventions, technologies, and approaches to
SBCC programming to achieve maximum public health impact - Experience
in monitoring and evaluation, data collection and management, and
knowledge sharing - Demonstrated
interest in building capacity of local partners - Demonstrated
leadership, versatility, and integrity - Fluency
in English required
